For the week ending 25 September 2010, the combined traffic on u.s. road transit operations totaled 241,167 trailers and containers, 17.3 percent from the same week 2009, down 2.1% compared to 2008. The container last week rose 19.2% compared with 2008 and an increase of 6% compared with 2008. Trailer volume last week rose 7% compared to 2009, but decreased 32.8 percent compared to 2008.
U.S. road transit operations originate from 300,908 carloads week, 10.7% compared to the same week in 2009, but down 8.2% from the same week in 2008, in order to provide a complete picture of the progress of rail traffic, report AAR 2010 weekly rail traffic with comparison weeks in both 2008 and 2009. "
